Grading and Site Prep in Waukesha County

Grading is the part of the job that decides whether water sits against your foundation every spring. We cut, fill and shape the lot so it drains where it should, then leave a finish grade that is ready for sod, seed or slab. This is the work behind the 19 years of heavy equipment experience.

Making water leave

Most calls start with standing water or a wet basement wall. Fixing it is usually grade first, structure second.

  • Positive pitch established off the foundation
  • Swales shaped to carry runoff to the low corner
  • Low spots filled and compacted, not just topped with black dirt

Pads and prep work

Whether it is a garage slab, a shed or a new lawn, the surface underneath has to be flat, compacted and at the right elevation.

  • Pads cut to elevation and compacted
  • Stone brought up to grade for slab work
  • Finish grade left clean enough to seed or sod the next day

Booking site prep

Shoot the grades

We check elevations and find out where the water is actually going.

Plan the cut

You get a plan for what moves, what comes in and what leaves the site.

Move the dirt

Rough grade, compact, finish grade and clean the site up behind us.

Why people book Elevated Landscape Services

The base is where the money goes

Anyone can set stone on top. Nineteen years on heavy equipment is what makes the excavation, compaction and drainage right underneath it.

One crew, start to finish

One in-house crew means the person who saw your yard on day one is still on it at the end.

Dirt and stone from one contractor

Grading, site prep and hardscaping under one number, so nobody is pointing at somebody else when the water sits in the wrong place.

Waukesha County only

We stay inside the county we are based in. Short drives mean we get to the job and back to it.

Site Prep questions

Do you haul dirt off, or can it stay on site?

Either. Keeping spoil on the property is cheaper when there is a place for it, and we will tell you which way makes sense on your lot.

Can you grade a lot the builder left rough?

Yes. Finish grading behind a builder is common work for us, including rock picking, topsoil and prep for seed or sod.

Will the equipment tear up my existing lawn?

Tracked machines spread the weight, and we plan the access route with you. Anything we do disturb gets repaired as part of the job.
